I am an enthusiastic and experienced secondary school Head of Art who has worked extensively in the UK and now in Central Asia. I have over 25 years of teaching experience with Art curriculum (including Art, STEAM and Design Technology). I have delivered courses at the Primary and Secondary levels, including extensive work with Sixth Form students. I develop motivational relationships with students, using technology and traditional skills to enhance student learning.
Especially due to management roles in Art and Design Education, I have confidence and experience with a range of exam boards. This includes IB, AQA, Cambridge, OCR, A-levels and Pearson Edexcel. I have also taught some students from unconventional courses, such as BTECs, foundation year and degree-level students. Additionally, I am trained in IBDP Extended essay. I also attend yearly updates in training, and having been an examiner myself, have insight into the importance of thoroughly preparing students to meet assessment objectives. I have successfully taught students across the Art specialisms of Photography, Textile Design, Fine Art, 3D design and Graphic Communication. I also assist with University applications, portfolios and personal statements.
My work focuses on empowering students to create strong creative portfolios fit for maximum scores. I have helped students achieve their goals in a diverse range of specialisms, scoring the highest grades and moving on to top Universities worldwide.
