Teaching comes naturally to me. Destiny took me to one of the topmost Teacher Training Institutes, where I completed my Graduation and Post-Graduation in Chemistry, alongside a B.Ed. (Bachelor in Education). Having been an IB Examiner for 16 long years, marking EE, IA and HL Paper 2, I clearly have an idea about the expectations of the IB Examining team.
I’ve done a highly satisfying stint as an IBDP HL Chemistry teacher for 16 years in a very well reputed IB school. This included 10 years of teaching IGCSE Chemistry. Since I also held senior leadership positions in succession, of Science HoD, IGCSE Coordinator and IBDP Coordinator for most part of my career (15 years), I had to balance the tasks of administration and teaching. Not surprisingly, I found it easy, thanks to the inbuilt passion for teaching. I find the IBDP Chemistry curriculum extremely fascinating, and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching it. When in a classroom, my transformation into a “Chemistry Teacher” is almost instantaneous, I find myself completely transported to a different world, where it is just me and my student/s.
Focussed teaching, attention to details and attending to the needs of students across the range of their abilities are some of the key points of my classroom teaching. I emphasize a lot on student-teacher interaction during ongoing lessons.
