I am a passionate and dedicated educator and for the last 15 years, have been teaching grades 1 to 10, to enhance their knowledge and appreciation of the English language. As a student in Tokyo, during and after my M.A. in Japanese language, I also taught English as a foreign language. Interacting with students from different cultures, boards, grades and abilities has encouraged me to design and teach unique courses for a wide range of school curriculums.
I specialise in early/ middle year education (grades 6 to 9) for students studying CAIE, pre-IGCSE, IGCSE and MYP. My group sessions are for overall development and application of the language, with individual sessions being student and board-specific and including personalised exam preparation.
People have always told me that I am more patient with children than with adults! I do not disagree with them. Creating confidence and strong foundations for children are key to my teaching methodology and for years I have enjoyed organising extra-curricular workshops and activities which inspire and create interest. My last few workshops were: story writing, magazine creation, vocabulary enrichment and concise writing. I specifically tailor classes to suit a student’s needs, based on their learning requirements and abilities.
