AP English Language
Description
The AP English Language and Composition is an introductory composition course set up by the College Board. This college-level course helps students in cultivating their understanding of writing and creating rhetorical arguments through a process of reading, analyzing, and writing of texts while exploring topics like rhetorical situations, claims, and evidence, reasoning and organization, and style.
The AP English program has two courses – a. Language and b. Literature
The Language course is designed to provide high school students with a typical introductory-level college English curriculum, and it focuses on evidence-based analytic and argumentative writing, along with the rhetorical analysis of non-fiction texts.
