IB English Literature

  • Course level: English Literature
  • Categories IB

Our IB English Literature programme introduces students to a range of literary works of different periods, genres, styles and contexts. Students develop an understanding of the techniques involved in literary criticism and the ability to form independent literary judgments.

1:1 and Group Classes

We teach a hybrid model of solo and regular timetabled group classes (currently online). We assess the individual needs of every student and, partnering with parents, mutually decide on an appropriate course of study for the student. Our general recommendation is that students start their learning in a group class and once core theory has been understood, group sessions can be complemented with solo classes to consolidate learning and address any specific concerns.

We also offer paper marking services for this course. Having your practice papers marked will help give you a clear idea of where and how to improve. Please click here to know more.

Sunita used a variety of tools and teaching methods tailored to my needs, and she always made the effort to ensure I understood and was able to apply what she taught me. This kept classes interesting and engaging!

National Public School (NPS), Student with Young Scholarz from Grade 9 to Grade 12

Firstly, Young Scholarz truly taught me how to think critically and answer exam style questions from different perspectives while linking my answer to broader themes and ideas. Lastly, due to the ample amount of resources and guidance provided, I was able to experience a significant increase in my grades and was extremely satisfied with the final result.

Sunita Ma'am has been extremely influential in my progression with the English language. When I joined in middle school my English was atrocious, to say the least. However, with her guidance I managed to get an A* in my IGCSE English Language exam and I am well on my way to high grades in my IB exams.
