IB Environment Systems and Societies
Description
With a range of subject choices and additional compulsory subjects, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a complete package that brings to students various facets of learning. Subjects not just ranging from science to arts, but also touching upon Film, Theatre, Dance, Theory of Knowledge, and so on guide and prepare students, between 16-19 years of age, for success in university and beyond.
The IB Diploma Programme aims to provide a safe yet academically challenging place for students to become knowledgeable, compassionate, curious, and interculturally understanding adults. With multiple language options and subjects like Global Politics, students are given a credible platform to learn through the lens of other cultures.
The IBDP Environmental Systems and Societies (ES&S) course is acceptable in both these academic areas: 1. Individuals and Societies and 2. Sciences, so it’s a balanced option to choose to fill in your requirements and enables students to fulfill the needs of both subject groups while preparing for one course. It’s available only at the standard level, (SL), hence giving an opportunity to focus on other HL options.
This course encourages a broad skill set from students, ranging from research and investigations to active participation in philosophical discussions and problem-solving. It equips students with the ability to understand the power that our complex system of societies holds against the natural world and make informed decisions that positively affect both nature and society.
Join this course for a better understanding of the environment and to develop a more holistic approach on a personal, community, as well as a global level.
