Dive deep into the richness of the Japanese language while exploring literature, culture, and communication through an interdisciplinary lens. The IB Japanese Language and Literature course (offered at both Standard Level and Higher Level) equips students with strong linguistic skills and critical thinking abilities. Students engage with a wide variety of personal, professional and mass media texts and develop their interpretive, productive, and interactive abilities in Japanese. The Paper 2 component explores two literary works, which enrich their understanding of cultural contexts and language use. The course nurtures intercultural understanding, appreciation for literature, and the ability to express complex ideas with clarity and fluency.
