IGCSE English Literature

  • Course level: English Literature

Our English Literature programme enables learners to read, interpret and evaluate texts through the study of literature in English. Through study of great novelists, poets and dramatists from around the world, learners acquire lifelong skills in interpreting and evaluating texts. Our classes also encourage the exploration of wider and universal issues.

1:1 and Group Classes

We teach a hybrid model of solo and regular timetabled group classes (currently online). We assess the individual needs of every student and, partnering with parents, mutually decide on an appropriate course of study for the student. Our general recommendation is that students start their learning in a group class and once core theory has been understood, group sessions can be complemented with solo classes to consolidate learning and address any specific concerns.

We also offer paper marking services for this course. Having your practice papers marked will help give you a clear idea of where and how to improve. Please click here to know more.

Student Reviews

Parent of UWCSEA East, IGCSE English student

Hi Sunita, wanted to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for the wonderful job that you have done teaching Tanya and preparing her for IGCSE exams this year. Your assignments were hard but she learnt a lot from them. Your classroom sessions gave her the self confidence to clarify all her doubts and follow her dreams. Without your support and guidance as an amazing teacher, our child would not have been able to achieve an A*. As a parent, I also observed your efforts, dedication and hard work as a teacher. The time you spent during and after the class giving our child the individual attention to make sure she understands and provides regular feedback to the parents goes above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you very much. Truly appreciated.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for bolstering my English grade to an A* in both Language and Literature. I really surprised myself as I ended up getting a 95 in Language and a 94 in Literature.

St Joseph’s Institution International, IGCSE student

Ms Sunita was able to help me achieve 95 (A*) in IGCSE English Literature (and an A in IGCSE English Language) which I would not have thought to be possible. One of the top things she changed for me was the in-depth planning structure that helped me write essays which had clear thesis statements and well-developed ideas.
